Kingston Hospital, Sunshine & Dolphin Wards:
Our continued support in Momentum Children’s Charity led to a tour of the Sunshine & Dolphin wards at Kingston Hospital, discovering rooms each with their own stories of past patients. It’s an incredible experience to see the transformation on these children’s lives, as a potentially stressful environment has become a more relaxed, fun, and calming space for them, as they undergo treatment thanks to us and many others’ support.
Durbanville Quadriplegic Centre:
The Durbanville Quad Centre is a residence for 12 quadriplegics who are supported by devoted carers who look after their daily needs. The Centre is run with the assistance of the QuadPara association of South Africa. The house receives very little funding from the government. We work on various initiatives to raise funds to enable living in the self-help Centre, allowing the residents to take control of and be responsible for their lives.
Annual Macmillan Coffee Morning:
Every year the entire Surbiton team releases their inner Mary Berry and bakes a selection of homemade treats to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan is funded by charitable donations, enabling the provision of constant support to those diagnosed with cancer and their families. Macmillan offers all types of assistance from financial to work advice as well as a shoulder to lean on when those affected need to talk.
